Pre-operative medications and new anesthetic sheets

When you make an anesthetic sheet, you can record pre-operative medications that you will administer. To record pre-operative medications, use the applicable medication boxes that show in the Creating new Anesthetic Sheet dialog box.

The Creating new Anesthetic Sheet dialog box includes a Meds on Anesthetic Sheet setting. If you set Meds on Anesthetic Sheet setting to Yes, SmartFlow shows the pre-operative medications in the new anesthetic sheet. This image shows a pre-operative medication and the result in a new flowsheet:Example of the Meds on Anesthetic sheet setting set to Yes

If you set Meds on Anesthetic Sheet to No, SmartFlow does not show pre-operative medications in the new anesthetic sheet. This image shows what occurs if you record a pre-operative medication but set Meds on Anesthetic Sheet to No:Example of the Meds on Anesthetic sheet setting set to No

When you make an anesthetic sheet, SmartFlow automatically keeps the previous selection of the Meds on Anesthetic Sheet setting. Thus, it is important to do a check of the Meds on Anesthetic Sheet setting each time that you make an anesthetic sheet.

Note: You cannot change the Meds on Anesthetic Sheet setting after you finalize the anesthesia sheet.
