About patient records made directly in SmartFlow

If necessary, you can make a patient record directly in SmartFlow. Examples of when to make a patient record directly in SmartFlow include emergency patients or when ezyVet is not available.

Note: Before you can make patient records directly in SmartFlow, a practice manager must set LIMIT PATIENT CREATION TO EMR in SmartFlow to OFF.
After you use SmartFlow to make a patient record directly, SmartFlow:
  1. Syncs the patient information to ezyVet
  2. ezyVet shows the patient information in the Unallocated Smart Flow Patients section of the Smart Flow dashboard tab

If you make a patient record directly in SmartFlow, ezyVet will not have an equivalent:
  • Patient record
  • Clinical record
  • Client contact record
To invoice the applicable clients for clinical care, it is necessary to connect the SmartFlow patient record to the applicable records in ezyVet. To connect the patient records, use the Unallocated Smart Flow Patients section to do one of these procedures:

Make ezyVet patient and client records that sync information from SmartFlow patient records

If ezyVet does not have patient or clinical records for a patient record that you made directly in SmartFlow, you can make the records. After you make the records, SmartFlow syncs the information of the applicable patient into them. Then you can use ezyVet to invoice the client for the patient's clinical care.

Connect SmartFlow patient records with ezyVet records

If you made a patient record directly in SmartFlow, and ezyVet has applicable records for the patient or client, connect the records. As a result, SmartFlow syncs information about the records to ezyVet.

About removal of entries from the Unallocated Smart Flow Patients section

ezyVet customer support does not recommend that you remove entries from the Unallocated Smart Flow Patients section. If you remove an entry from the Unallocated Smart Flow Patients section, you cannot connect the applicable SmartFlow patient record to an ezyVet clinical record.
