Release notes (SmartFlow web app): September 2026

The SmartFlow web app has the following changes from September 2026.

Change: Visual updates to the user interface (September 28, 2026)

Note: These changes are only available for some customers. All customers will receive the changes in a subsequent release.
The SmartFlow web app has these visual changes:
  • All screens use the same colors
  • Headings use the Sora font, and all other text uses the Roboto font
  • Text boxes and drop-down lists have the same height in all screens (for example, some boxes in the General settings screen and in flowsheets are smaller)
  • All buttons have the same appearance

When SmartFlow saves your changes, the button that you selected shows that SmartFlow is busy. You cannot select the button again until SmartFlow saves the changes. Previously, some buttons did not change while SmartFlow saved your changes.

The text on the Edit user profile and Edit account buttons is easy to read. Previously, the text was blue on a blue background.

Change: On and Off settings (September 28, 2026)

Note: These changes are only available for some customers. All customers will receive the changes in a subsequent release.

All controls that turn a setting on or off show the labels Off and On, in that sequence. Previously, the controls used different labels (for example, Yes and No), and showed the "on" label first. Your practice's configured settings do not change.

The controls that you use to select one setting from a group of settings have a new appearance (for example, the control for the DNR status of a patient). The values that you selected do not change.

Change: Standard items for medication units of measurement (September 15, 2026)

The lists for medication units of measurement in Lists Management settings include a set of standard items. These lists have standard items:
  • Concentration Measure
  • Concentration Volume
  • Medication Dosage Measure
  • Medication Dosage Volume

SmartFlow uses the concentration and the dosage of a medication to calculate a safe dosage range. Thus, each measurement must have a known meaning. For more information, refer to Standard items in Lists Management.

A measurement that is not a standard item can have a different meaning in each clinic (for example, Feline or leg). Your lists keep all of the measures and volumes that they had, thus your workflow does not change.

Note: The Medication Route table also includes more items. You can change or remove these items, because they are not standard items. They prepare SmartFlow for an enhancement to the safe dosage range of medications.

Change: Standard item descriptions (September 15, 2026)

You can add or change the description of a standard unit of measurement in these tables:
  • Concentration Measure
  • Concentration Volume
  • Medication Dosage Measure
  • Medication Dosage Volume

Select Edit item on the row to change the description. The name stays locked, because SmartFlow uses the name to calculate medication doses. A note in the window tells you this. You cannot remove a standard unit of measurement.
