About the whiteboard

The whiteboard shows all of your organization's admitted patients. The whiteboard gives staff access to a quick and easy view of an admitted patient's clinical care.

When you open the whiteboard, SmartFlow shows:
  • Each patient's patient card
  • Each patient's critical information
  • Each patient's scheduled treatment tasks or workflow tasks
Tip: If you select a patient card, SmartFlow shows the applicable patient sheet.
You can use the whiteboard to:
  • Show patient sheets
  • Change patient information
  • Change client information
  • Make temporary patient records
The whiteboard shows a number on the patient card to identify the quantity of scheduled treatment tasks that staff did not complete.
Note: The whiteboard shows a number on the patient card if the conditions that follow agree:
  • The patient has a flowsheet
  • The patient has a flowsheet of a different day
  • You did not complete a treatment task of the flowsheet of the different day

To remove the number, you must complete the treatment task of the flowsheet of the different day (as an alternative, you can remove it).

If your organization has many locations or departments, each location can have its own whiteboard. For example, if your organization has many departments, SmartFlow can show:
  • An emergency department whiteboard
  • A boarding department whiteboard
  • An equine department whiteboard
You can change which patients the whiteboard shows. For example, you can configure the whiteboard to show:
  • The patients of one department
  • The patients of two departments
  • The patients of all departments
