SmartFlow system requirements
The SmartFlow system requirements give information about the minimum and recommended technology for you to get the best results with SmartFlow.
Internet connection
A stable internet connection is necessary to sync and keep data integrity.
Computers, devices, and web browsers
For the best results, use SmartFlow in a Chrome web browser.
SmartFlow has an iPad application that you can use in a Chrome web browser on many types of devices. For example, you can use the iPad application in a Chrome web browser with a:
- Laptop computer
- Desktop computer
- Television
Tip: Organizations frequently use televisions as whiteboards in each treatment area.
iPads
For best results with iPads, use supported iPads and recommended hardware specifications. If you do not use supported iPads and recommended hardware specifications, SmartFlow has slow performance because an unsupported iPad has limited processing capabilities.

Note: If you buy an iPad from a retailer, the iPad does not automatically have mobile device management (MDM) configuration. If you want to configure MDM on an iPad, refer to Configure your new MDM solution.

Supported iPads
This table shows iPads that are supported for use with SmartFlow, but:
- SmartFlow does not operate at full capacity
- SmartFlow has slow sync times
- SmartFlow has slow sign-in for staff
- Apple has discontinued the iPads but they still give support

Note: If you use an iPad 7th gen (2019), SmartFlow has slow sync times and slow sign-in for staff. As a result, it is recommended that you operate SmartFlow on a different iPad.
