Configure safety alerts for a medication

A practice manager can configure the routes and the safe dose ranges of a medication. SmartFlow then shows a warning when a dose is too low or too high.

Note: Medication safety alerts are only available for some customers at this time.
To configure the safety alerts of a medication, do this procedure.
  1. Select the user account button.

  2. Select SETTINGS.

    SmartFlow shows a General settings screen.
  3. Select Medications.

    The Medications command shows a Medications screen.
  4. Select the search icon and do a search for the applicable medication.

    Tip: Use the Filters button to decrease the number of search results.
  5. Select the name of the applicable medication.
    SmartFlow shows a window that has settings for the medication.
  6. Make sure that the information in the Concentration, Acceptable routes, and Instructions boxes is correct.
  7. Set Enable safety alerts to On.
  8. In the Safety alerts section, select the + button.

    SmartFlow shows Default safe range set of settings.
  9. In the Default safe range settings:
    1. Enter a minimum dose in the Warn if below box.
    2. Enter a maximum dose in the Warn if above box.
    Note: Default safe range is applicable to all species.
  10. Optional: To add a different dose range for a species or a route:
    1. Select Add new rule.
    2. Select the applicable species.
    3. Select the applicable route, or select All routes.
    4. Enter the minimum dose and the maximum dose.
    Note: To remove a rule, select the trash button of the applicable row.
  11. Select Save.
    SmartFlow shows a Save changes pop-up window.
  12. Select Save.
The medication has the routes and the dose ranges that you configured.
