Make a temporary patient record for a future date

You can use SmartFlow to make a temporary patient record. If necessary, you can configure a future start date of the flowsheet. As a result, you can add the necessary information to the flowsheet before the patient is admitted.

Make sure that a practice manager set LIMIT PATIENT CREATION TO EMR to OFF.
To make a temporary patient record, do this procedure.
  1. Go to the whiteboard.
  2. Select the plus button.

  3. Select Create a Patient.

  4. If necessary, use the Name box to enter the patient name.

  5. If necessary, use the Patient File Number box to enter the patient file number.

  6. If necessary, use the Weight box, enter the patient weight.
  7. In the Treatment Template box, select the applicable treatment template.

  8. Select General.

  9. Use Treatments Begin at to select the start date and time.

  10. In the N⁰ of Flowsheets box, enter the necessary number of flowsheets.

    Note: SmartFlow saves the number that you enter in the Number of Flowsheets box. For example, if you enter 5, the Number of Flowsheets box shows 5 when a person manes another temporary patient record.
  11. Make the other settings as necessary.
  12. Select Save.
