Wiping Device from MaaS360

We can only wipe an iPad after the following requirements are met:
  • iPad is present in MaaS360 iPad is fully logged into MDM

  • Have customer open MDM app on iPad is listed as active and reachable.
  • After verifying with the client the device is on with full battery (or charging) and connected to Wi-Fi. Obtain the iPad Serial Number from the Customer

To do a wipe, use this procedure.
Note: Removing an iPad from MDM is a delicate process and all steps must be taken and verified to ensure successful completion and no bricked iPad. This is necessary for Apple Warranty Service or if a Customer requests de-enrollment from our MDM Program.
  1. Login to Apple Business Manager using your @smartflowsheet.com email.
  2. Select devices.
  3. Search for the device by S/N
  4. Release Device (Eject button)
  5. Login to IBM MaaS360 using your Idexx email.
  6. Search for Device byS/N.
  7. Verify Last Reported Status one last time.
  8. Hover over more in the top right, select Wipe
    You should see this screen:

  9. Scroll down in this window and select continue.
  10. You must now enter your password to confirm this action.
  11. Instructions will be sent to the device to perform a wipe with factory reset, reverting to the standard iOS firmware.
  12. You and the user will receive an email confirming the wipe was performed.
The customer will have a fresh install and will need to login with their own Apple ID and password.
