Make procedure parameters for vial medications

If you want to invoice a client for one vial and dispense medication from the vial while the patient is admitted, a practice manager must make two parameters. The procedure parameter syncs the invoice information to your practice information management system (PIMS). Staff can use the other parameter to record the medication that they dispense.

To make a procedure parameter, do this procedure.
  1. Select the user account button.

  2. Select SETTINGS.

  3. In the TEMPLATES AND FORMS section, select Parameters.

  4. Select ADD NEW.

  5. In the Name box, enter the parameter name.

  6. In the Default Section box, select Procedure.
  7. Set Billing to OFF or set Events to OFF.
    Note: If your SmartFlow site is connected to your PIMS, SmartFlow replaces Billing with Events. And in the Events setting name, SmartFlow shows the name of your PIMS. For example, if your organization uses ezyVet, SmartFlow does not show Billing but does show ezyVet Events.
  8. In the Picker type box, select Picker List.

  9. In the Options box, select the applicable parameter of a vial medication.

  10. Do step 9 for all applicable vial medications.
  11. Select SAVE.
