Record a patient's dental care

To record dental care for patient, use the dental chart.

Make sure that the patient has a dental chart.
To record dental care, do this procedure.
  1. Go to the whiteboard of the applicable patient.
  2. Select the applicable patient card.
    SmartFlow shows the patient's flowsheet.
  3. Select Dental.

  4. If applicable, select the camera button to add images of teeth before the inspection.
  5. To record basic information, select EXTRACTED, MISSING, or HEALTHY as necessary, then select the applicable teeth.
  6. To record full information, clear EXTRACTED, MISSING, and HEALTHY, then select the applicable tooth.
    SmartFlow shows a Notes box, abbreviations, and other settings.
  7. Enter information and make settings as necessary.
  8. If applicable, use the timer to record the procedure time for the tooth.
  9. If you want to go back to the initial dental chart screen, select Done.
    Tip: As an alternative, select the left or right arrows ( < or > ) to quickly go to the previous or next tooth.
  10. Do steps 6 thru 9 again as necessary for each tooth.
  11. If applicable, select the camera button to add images of teeth after the inspection.
  12. After you complete the inspection and dental care, select Finalize.

  13. Select Finalize Dental.

The dental chart has the results of the dental inspection. SmartFlow automatically makes a Dental Chart report as PDF that has the information from the dental chart.
