About resuscitation statuses
A resuscitation status tells staff what interventions that a patient can receive in a life-threatening emergency.
This table gives each resuscitation status that is available in SmartFlow and when to use it:
| Resuscitation status | What the status identifies |
|---|---|
| advanced life support (ALS) | Use ALS for patients who can receive very invasive interventions. |
| basic life support (BLS) | Use BLS for patients who can receive only usual interventions. |
| do not resuscitate (DNR) | Use DNR for patients who receive no intervention. |
- In patient cards in whiteboards
- In the patient information area of a flowsheet
