Record an additive of a fluid treatment

If you add a fluid treatment additive, SmartFlow does not record changes to inventory or invoicing information. As a result, it is necessary to add a medication treatment that records the same quantity of medication that is in the fluid additive.

Make sure that a practice manager used the Lists Management section of SmartFlow system settings to add a medication route with the name Added to Bag.

To record an additive, do this procedure.

Go to the whiteboard of the applicable patient.
Select the applicable patient card.
SmartFlow shows the patient's flowsheet.
Select the plus button that is adjacent to MEDICATION.
SmartFlow shows the Add Medication dialog box.
Use the Name box to select the applicable medication.
Set Continue every (hours) to Once.
In the Route box, select Bag.
In the second Total dose box, enter the volume of the medication that you added to the fluid treatment.
Select Done.
When you add the medication to the fluid bag, enter your initials in the applicable medication treatment cell of the patient's flowsheet.
