How to track bagged additives
If you add a medication to the Additive section of the fluid calculator, SmartFlow does not record the change to inventory. But, if you record fluid additives in the Medication section allows them to be tracked on the Billing PDF report.
ezyVet customer support recommends that a practice manager make a route called Added to Bag. As a result, staff can quickly and easily see the method of administration of the medication on the flowsheet.
After you added a medication to a flowsheet, select the medication to show the medication settings. In the Route box, enter Added to Bag. In the second Total dose box, enter the volume of the medication that you added to the bag.
Note: Make sure that you set Continue every (hours) to Once.
As a result, SmartFlow shows that although you give the medication to the patient intravenously (as an additive to the fluids), you will not give the medication directly to the patient at that time.
