Add a bolus to a fluid treatment to accurately calculate the volume and infusion rate of the fluid.

1. Go to the whiteboard of the applicable patient.
2. Select the applicable patient card.
   SmartFlow shows the patient's flowsheet.
3. Select the plus button that is adjacent to FLUID.
   
   SmartFlow shows the Add Fluid dialog box.
4. In the Name box, select the applicable fluid.
5. Select Add.
   SmartFlow shows settings for a fluid treatment.
6. Make settings as necessary.
7. Select Press to add bolus.
   SmartFlow shows settings to add a bolus to a fluid treatment.
8. In the Start at (o'clock) box, enter the time that you want to give the bolus to the patient.
9. In the Volume/kg box, enter the applicable volume for the medication.
   SmartFlow automatically enters a value in the Total volume box.
10. In the Over period box, enter the range of time that you want the patient to receive the bolus.
    SmartFlow automatically enters a value in the Bolus rate box.
11. Select Done.
